Why choose Ganesh IAS Academy among others?
Focused mentoring, experienced faculty, and 25 years of proven results — see what sets Ganesh IAS apart.
Well Experienced Faculties
Our faculty have personally appeared in civil services examinations. They know where aspirants lose marks, where the syllabus misleads, and what the interview panel actually probes. You get strategy from people who have been inside the process, not just around it.
Vibrant Environment
Guest lectures by serving IAS and IPS officers, active peer discussions, and a culture of collective ambition define learning at Ganesh IAS. The environment here keeps aspirants consistent in ways individual study rarely does.
Individual Attention
Batch sizes are kept deliberately small. Doubt sessions, study planning, and personalised feedback are built into the programme, not offered as add-ons. Direct faculty access is available to every student, regardless of their starting point.
Value Added Materials
In-house study materials, weekly current affairs updates, and a structured Prelims test series are all updated each cycle to reflect current UPSC patterns. The programme also draws from our founder’s Pearson-published reference books on the Constitution, Polity, and Governance.
Adaptation to Changes
UPSC shifts its emphasis year on year. Our curriculum is reviewed each cycle with updated GS content, revised answer-writing frameworks, and current exam trends. What gets taught reflects where the exam is heading, not where it has been.
Our faculties are also eminent authors
Our founder S.G. Subramanian and senior faculty have authored reference books on the Indian Constitution, Polity, Governance, and TNPSC, published by Pearson. At Ganesh IAS, you learn directly from the authors of the material.

FAQs
Who can join Ganesh IAS Academy?
The basic requirement is a degree from any recognised university, and the discipline does not matter. If you are in your final year and your results are still pending, you can still apply. Age-wise, the General category window for UPSC Civil Services runs from 21 to 32 years. OBC candidates get up to 35, and SC/ST candidates up to 37. Beyond eligibility on paper, we work with first-time aspirants, people balancing jobs with preparation, and those who have previously attempted the exam and are taking it again.
What is the batch size, and will I get individual attention?
We keep numbers small deliberately, and this is not something that happened by default. Students here do not have to wait for a scheduled doubt session to speak to faculty. Study planning, one-on-one reviews, and feedback on where you are going wrong happen regularly. The director and senior faculty stay involved across the full course cycle, not just at the classroom level.
Do you provide coaching for both Prelims and Mains?
Yes, all three stages are covered: Prelims, Mains, and the Personality Test. Some students join for the full integrated cycle, others come in specifically for Mains or Interview prep after attempting Prelims elsewhere. Both work here. For optional subject availability under Mains, speak directly to our admissions team since offerings are updated each cycle.
Are online classes available?
Yes, and they run live. Two-way interactive sessions where students can ask questions in real time, not a library of recorded lectures. Online students follow the same curriculum, receive the same weekly current affairs updates, and have full access to the Prelims test series. If you miss a session, the recording is available. Location has not stopped anyone from preparing seriously here.
How is Ganesh IAS different from other coaching institutes in Chennai?
Most institutes will tell you they have experienced faculty and good materials. What is harder to replicate is 25 years of being at this. Ganesh IAS was coaching civil services aspirants in Chennai before most of the current institutes existed. The faculty here have personally sat the civil services exam. The founder’s reference books on the Constitution and Polity, published by Pearson, are used by students well outside this institute. The alumni record in Tamil Nadu state services as DSPs, Deputy Collectors, and CTOs is visible, not claimed.
What study materials are provided?
Everything is developed in-house: GS papers, CSAT material, weekly current affairs, and the Prelims test series. None of it is recycled from previous cycles and it gets reviewed and updated before each batch. The programme also draws from our founder’s Pearson-published books on the Indian Constitution, Polity, and Governance. Most students find they do not need external sources once they are inside the programme.
