Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 12/05/2026
At Ganesh IAS, the trust extended to us by every learner, parent, visitor, and aspirant who engages with our website [https://www.ganeshias.com/] or our mobile app means a great deal. The note you’re reading lays out what we collect from you — the reasons behind it, the way we look after that information, and the say you have over it. If you go ahead and use the Platform, we’ll take it that you’re okay with the practices described here.
1. Who This Applies To
Anyone who lands on our Platform falls within the scope of this notice — whether you’re a prospective candidate making enquiries about,
- UPSC
- TNPSC
- State PSC
- Banking
- SSC
- Or any other competitive examination course
Currently enrolled students, alumni, and individuals who reach out to us through online or offline channels are also covered.
2. What We Gather
Our data collection happens in a few different ways.
Things you share with us directly
The moment you fill in an enquiry form, sign up for a batch, opt into our newsletter, attend a free trial session, download notes, or reach out to us through any route — you might end up sharing:
- Your name, age, and gender
- Phone number and email
- Postal address, city, and state
- Academic background and the exam you’re working towards
- A passport-size photograph and ID proof (only at the time of admission)
- Banking or transaction details needed to process the fee
Things that get logged automatically
When you simply browse the site, certain background data is recorded without you actively typing it in — such as:
- Your IP address and rough geographic location
- The device, operating system, and browser you’re using
- The pages opened, time spent on them, and the link that brought you in
- Date- and time-stamped records of your activity
Cookies and similar tools
We rely on cookies, tracking pixels, and analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, and the like) to read patterns of usage, fine-tune the site’s performance, and make sure you see content that’s actually relevant. Trackers can be switched off through your browser settings, though doing so may take some site features away with it.
3. How We Put Your Data to Use
The information we gather flows into the following:
- Replying to your queries and sharing course-related details with you
- Handling admissions, processing payments, and issuing receipts
- Running the classes, tests, mentoring sessions, and study material you’ve signed up for
- Sending across important updates such as timetable changes, test scores, and exam notifications
- Letting you know about new batches, scholarships, special offers, and add-on programmes
- Improving the quality of our teaching, faculty support, content, and overall user experience
- Spotting and addressing technical glitches, fraud attempts, or any misuse
- Meeting legal, regulatory, and statutory obligations placed on us
By handing over your contact details on our Platform, you give Ganesh IAS the go-ahead to reach out to you through phone calls, SMS, email, or WhatsApp regarding our courses and services — and this holds even if your number happens to be registered under DND (Do Not Disturb).
4. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We don’t sell, lease, or trade your personal information to any outside party for marketing purposes. That said, your data may move beyond our internal team in a few limited situations:
- With trusted service partners (payment gateways, SMS and email vendors, cloud hosting providers, analytics tools, and so on) who help us run the Platform — strictly under confidentiality terms
- With government bodies or statutory authorities when the law, a court order, or the defence of our legal rights calls for it
- Within our branches, faculty, or mentoring team — purely for academic delivery, counselling, and student support
- During corporate developments such as a merger or transfer of business, where the successor entity will continue to honour this same policy
5. Payment Details
Card numbers, UPI IDs, and net-banking credentials never sit on our servers. All online payments route through gateways that follow PCI-DSS standards. Once your payment goes through, what we keep on our side is essentially the order reference and the transaction status — strictly for accounting and reconciliation.
6. Keeping Your Data Safe
Reasonable safeguards are in place at our end — encrypted transmission (SSL), restricted internal access, password controls, and periodic checks — to keep what you’ve shared protected. Having said that, the internet isn’t a fully foolproof environment, and we can’t promise absolute safety no matter how carefully we try.
7. How Long Information Is Held
We hold on to personal data only as long as the original purpose calls for it, or for as long as accounting, legal, or statutory rules require us to. Records of students who have taken admission may stay with us for a longer stretch, since academic and statutory documentation often needs to be preserved.
8. Links Going Out to Other Websites
Our Platform may at times direct you to:
- External websites
- Social media handles
- Payment gateways
- Partner portals
Third-party sites run on their own privacy frameworks; we can’t take responsibility for what they do with your data or for the content they put out. It’s worth glancing through their privacy notices before sharing anything personal there.
9. Data Subject Rights
Under applicable privacy laws, you are entitled to the following:
- The Right of Access — Request a summary of the personal data we maintain on you.
- The Right to Rectification — Have any incorrect or unfinished records amended.
- The Right to Erasure — Ask for the deletion of your data, subject to statutory retention periods.
- The Right to Object — Step out of marketing communications at your discretion by writing to enquiry@ganeshias.com.
- The Right to Withdraw Consent — Pull back the authorisation for data processing wherever it was previously granted.
All formal requests should be routed through the channels outlined in Section 13.
10. Children’s Privacy
Our courses and content are built for individuals preparing for higher-level competitive examinations. We don’t knowingly collect personal details from children below the age of consent without verifiable parental approval. If you happen to feel a minor has shared their data with us without that approval, drop us a note and we’ll take appropriate action.
11. Copyright and Content Ownership
Everything you see on our Platform — text, study notes, video lectures, images, logos, test papers, and downloadable material — belongs to Ganesh IAS or has been licensed to us. Visitors aren’t permitted to copy, reproduce, distribute, or republish this content for commercial purposes without prior written permission from our side. Wherever permitted use is granted, Ganesh IAS must be clearly cited as the source.
12. Changes to This Privacy Guideline
This guideline isn’t set in stone. We may revise it now and then to align with developments in law, fresh technology, or shifts in our internal procedures. Any revised version will appear on this very page along with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continuing to use the Platform after a change is taken as your acceptance of the revised terms.
